Nokia Lumia 925: Ultimate Smartphone Experience

Nokia had launched its Lumia series at the time when things were not shaping up well for this Finnish mobile manufacturer. Well, things are now looking good for the mobile manufacturing giant. Maintaining per quarter growth of 32 percent, 7.6 million Lumia smart-phones were shipped in last quarter by Nokia.

However, entry-level Lumia smart-phones contribute more to the numbers than top-of-the-line models.

Nokia’s previous flagship smart-phone, Lumia 920 performed below expectations of the company as well as users. Poor pricing decision, poor performing camera and size and thickness of the phone are to be blamed for below expected response in the market.

Nokia has brought Lumia 925 with the aim to change all that Lumia 920 failed to capitalise on. Features of Lumia 925 are almost same as Lumia 920 but modified in a more attractive package. Would Nokia be second time lucky with this latest Lumia flagship device? Let’s find out.

Design

The big and bulky design of Lumia 920 didn’t go down too well with the users. Though Nokia justified it by ‘PureView’ camera and optical image stabilisation wizardry but it failed to create a stir in the market.

The Lumia 925 is exactly what users have thought Lumia 920 to be. With almost 20 percent slimmer in shape and size and 25 percent lighter, Lumia 925 sports a brand new design. If you would have thought it to be like other colourful, polycarbonate Lumia smart-phones, well you will find Lumia 925 a bit boring and dull in black, white and grey colours.

Nokia has used metal for the first time in its Lumia series with this smart-phone. The polished and premium aluminium frame and curvy corners will give you a feel of N8, a solid camera phone. Polycarbonate plastic is used at the back of this smart-phone.

Software

Nokia Lumia 925 supports Windows Phone 8 operating system and features with Amber update on top. Lots of new software features add value to the user experience. Nokia Smart Cam is one of the highlights of this phone, as it takes a burst shot and allows users to remove objects, add motion blur, change faces, etc. The entire camera tools are user-friendly and let the users play around with photos.

There are features given for blocking numbers from the call history or inbox. Users can access official Twitter app as well as WhatsApp.

Overall, Lumia 925 captivates the users with well-designed smart-phone features and applications.
